Old WhatsApp Conversations are Disappearing & No One Knows the Reason
It has been reported by many users that their old WhatsApp conversations are disappearing after the company fixed a bug. Earlier this month, WhatsApp fixed a bug that allowed hackers to crash the messaging app during a call. However, a new issue has arisen after the bug was fixed by the company but no knows the specific reason behind this problem yet.
Old WhatsApp Conversations are Disappearing Without Any Specific Reason
It seems that there is more to fix in the app. A WhatsApp user, whose name is Adhya, reported the issue of disappearing old WhatsApp conversation on the XDA Developers Forum.
According to Adhya:
“I’m starting to realise that my old chats disappeared. It’s not archived. The oldest chat went first and day by day they disappeared one by one chronologically. I did reinstall and re-login but it stays the same. I’m using SM-G965F/DS on June security patch. Have this problem since April security patch as long as I remember. Anybody have the same issue?”
She further said that her old messages were missing from her Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. Her post was followed by similar complaints. Some other Android smartphone reported that they are also facing the same problem. Some users have reported that it is happening again and again. We hope soon WhatsApp will find out the reason behind this issue and will fix it.
