OnePlus Teases New “Turbo” Series With Massive 9,000mAh Battery

OnePlus has officially shared the first teaser for its upcoming “Turbo” smartphone series, confirming one of its most talked-about features: a huge 9,000mAh battery. This announcement comes shortly after the company confirmed that it is preparing to launch a completely new phone lineup, adding excitement among OnePlus fans and tech followers.

Rumors about the Turbo series first appeared in October Earlier this month, OnePlus acknowledged the series publicly, and an unofficial look surfaced last week. Now, the company has removed much of the mystery by releasing a short teaser video on Weibo, giving users their first official glimpse of what to expect.

According to the teaser, the Turbo lineup will include two smartphones: the OnePlus Turbo 6 and the OnePlus Turbo 6V. Despite this difference, both devices will share the same standout battery capacity.

The 9,000mAh battery is the main highlight of the Turbo series. This capacity is significantly larger than what is typically found in modern smartphones and suggests extremely long battery life. Interestingly, the teaser images do not show bulky or unusually thick devices. This points toward OnePlus using its advanced silicon carbon battery technology, which allows higher energy storage without dramatically increasing phone size.

OnePlus is positioning the Turbo series as performance-focused, particularly for gaming. However, the phones do not seem to follow the traditional gaming phone design. Unlike dedicated gaming devices from brands such as RedMagic, the Turbo phones do not appear to include shoulder buttons or gaming triggers. Instead, OnePlus seems to be aiming for a balance between power and everyday usability.

In terms of design, the Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V look familiar and consistent with OnePlus’s recent smartphones. The Turbo 6 will reportedly feature a triple rear camera setup, while the Turbo 6V will come with two rear cameras. The teaser also hints at practical features, including an efficient cooling system and resistance to water and dust, which should improve durability and sustained performance.

More information about the Turbo series will be official very soon. OnePlus has confirmed that both devices will officially launch in China on January 8. At this point, there is no confirmation about a global release, but interest is already high due to the impressive battery size and performance claims.
