Oppo Find X10 May Bring a Major Upgrade in Display Quality and Eye Care

Oppo is preparing a major display upgrade for its upcoming Find X10 series. The company has teased a new smartphone screen that could offer a much wider color range along with improved eye-care features.

Oppo has already introduced several display technologies in its flagship phones. The company was among the first to bring a 1440p smartphone display and a billion-color panel with a high dynamic refresh rate. With the Find X10 series, Oppo appears ready to push display technology even further.

New Eye-care Technology

One of the biggest upgrades could focus on reducing eye strain. Oppo is working with display maker Tianma on a new fourth-generation OLED material for its premium Find X series.

According to the company, the new material can reduce harmful blue light at the hardware level. Blue light output can reportedly fall to just 3.7%. This is different from software-based blue-light filters that simply change the display’s color temperature.

The display can also reduce brightness to below one nit. This could make the screen more comfortable to use in dark environments, especially when reading at night.

Oppo is also increasing deep-red light emission to 5.5%. The company says this creates a warmer display that may feel more comfortable during extended use. Oppo is calling the technology its “new-generation eye-care display.”

Wider Color Coverage

The Find X10 series could also set a new benchmark for smartphone color reproduction. Oppo says its upcoming displays can cover 95% of the BT.2020 color space.

BT.2020 is considerably wider than the DCI-P3 color space commonly used by premium smartphones. It was developed for advanced broadcast and HDR applications. Greater coverage can allow a display to reproduce a wider range of colors and provide smoother gradients in HDR content.

The new panel uses Tianma’s N1 primary-color spectrum emissive material. This technology changes the light output produced by individual subpixels to expand the display’s color capabilities.

Tianma is also using an AI-based De-Mura algorithm to improve screen uniformity. The technology is designed to reduce differences in brightness and color across different areas of the display.

Find X10 Could Arrive Later This Year

These display improvements are expected to debut with the Find X10 series. Current reports point to a possible September launch, although Oppo has yet to confirm the exact release date.

The upcoming phones are also rumored to feature powerful hardware, including a 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset and a 200MP main camera.

If Oppo delivers on its claims, the Find X10 series could stand out not only for its performance and cameras but also for its display technology. The combination of wider color coverage, improved HDR reproduction and hardware-level eye-care features could make the screen one of the phone’s biggest selling points.
