Overall Smartphones Sales & Brand Shares Increase During First Six Months of 2018 in Pakistan

Since rollout of 3G and 4G technology, the mobile phone and MBB adoption in Pakistan has rapidly increased which created a huge demand for smartphones. Pakistan has managed to catch up with the international tech revolution. Pakistani market mainly comprises of younger generation which is well-aware and tech-savvy audience for all the modern technological trends. This market segment prefers smartphones with 3G and 4G connectivity with all the other latest features at an affordable price. In order to use all the latest features and applications, consumers’ are moving towards 4G-enabled handsets; shipments of these devices have increased in H1 2018. Today, we are going to discuss and check up on how much the overall smartphones sales & brand shares increase was in H1 2018 in Pakistan.

Many Smartphone brands are now struggling to increase their market share and sales in Pakistan due to the high demand for smartphones.   This article will meticulously discuss the month wise market share of smartphone/mobile firms from January 2018 to June 2018 in discrete month wise graphs and then a cumulate pie-graph showing the average market share of brands from Jan 2018-Jun 2018.

Jan 2018 was led by the Microsoft/Nokia products closely followed by Q-Mobile’s products whereas Samsung captured the market share by staying at number three.

Once again Microsoft/Nokia managed to capture the largest brand-share by staying on top while Q-Mobile and Samsung succeeding by 18% and 12% market share respectively. OPPO brand maintained its market share at a rate of 9%.

In the third month of H1 2018 Q-Mobile took the grounds of brand-share by having 20% share of the mobile/smartphones market. Whilst Microsoft/Nokia was lagging by one percent ie. 19% market share. Samsung taking 13% of the piece of pie rested at number 3  whereas the fourth leading brand-share holder was OPPO at 9% share.

The leading shareholders in the month of April 2018 were Q-Mobile grasping 21% market share Microsoft/Nokia clutching 18% and Samsung clenching third place by having 12% share of the market. While OPPO going at a stagnant rate of 9% and seizing fourth place. Huawei brand shared the fourth place with OPPO by securing the same percentage in market share.

Q-Mobile led the race in consecutive third month of the year 2018 by 22%. This month apparently finalized the determining players of the market which were repeating their market share percentages since past five months. However Huawei this time around managed to surpass OPPO by 1% and securing brand-share of 10%.

Q-Mobile once again clasped the leading brand-share by 23% followed by Microsoft/Nokia, Samsung and Huawei.

This takes us to the ultimate graphical representation showing an average percentage of the brand-share of Mobile/Smartphone firms from January 2018 to June 2018.

The average shows that Q-Mobile leads the brand-share from Jan 18-Jun 18 by securing 20% market share. Microsoft/Nokia closely follows Q-Mobile by 19% and Samsung stays strong at number three by having 12% of the market share. Whereas OPPO and Huawei shared number four position by having average of 9% market share.

The trend might change in the upcoming months but so far the figures suggest that this trend will follow on for the leftover months as well. The following graph shows a snippet of what has been the market share of the brands from Jan 18 to Jun 18.
