Pak ID App Now Offers Birth and Death Registration Services in Islamabad

Residents of Islamabad can now register birth and death online through the Pak ID App following the launch of new digital services by the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

The service was officially inaugurated on Saturday by Chief Commissioner Islamabad and CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf during a ceremony attended by senior officials from CDA, MCI, and NADRA. The initiative aims to simplify the registration process and make government services more accessible to citizens.

With the introduction of the online system, residents no longer need to visit MCI offices or local union councils to register births and deaths. Officials said the new service is part of MCI’s broader digital transformation strategy, which focuses on improving public service delivery through technology. The move will further reduce paperwork, shorten processing times, and provide greater convenience for residents.

According to the briefing presented during the launch ceremony, approved birth and death certificates will be issued digitally through the app, eliminating the need for physical visits to government offices.
