Pakistan Considers Easypaisa Partnership for Digital Passport Fee Payments

The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports is considering cooperation with Easypaisa to make passport fee payments easier through digital payment methods.

Director General Immigration and Passports Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa recently met with an Easypaisa director and a delegation to discuss ways to simplify the payment process for passport applicants.

During the meeting, the Easypaisa delegation presented proposals for introducing digital payment solutions for passport fees. The proposed system could give citizens more convenient options to pay their fees without relying on traditional cash-based methods.

The two sides also reviewed the potential of digital payments to make passport-related services faster, easier and more citizen-friendly. Digital payment options could help applicants complete the fee payment process more conveniently while reducing the need to visit payment counters.

The proposed cooperation is also in line with the government’s broader push toward cashless and digital public services. In June 2026, the government decided to introduce a cashless system at passport offices as part of efforts to modernize passport services.

If implemented, the collaboration with Easypaisa could provide passport applicants with another digital channel for paying their fees. However, the latest meeting focused on proposals and possibilities, and further details about the launch, payment process and implementation timeline have yet to be announced.

The move reflects the government’s continued efforts to expand digital payments across public services and reduce dependence on cash transactions.
