Electricity consumers across Pakistan will soon notice a major change in their monthly utility bills. Power distribution companies (DISCOs) have started issuing redesigned electricity bills with a simpler layout, making it easier for consumers to understand important billing information.

The initiative is part of the Ministry of Energy’s ongoing efforts to improve customer service and make the power sector more consumer-friendly. The new bill format focuses on clarity and convenience by highlighting the most important details, such as the total amount payable, due date, and electricity consumption.

For many years, consumers complained that electricity bills were difficult to read because they contained too much information presented in a complicated manner. Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) will also begin issuing the updated bills shortly.

Other distribution companies are currently completing the necessary printing and procurement processes. Once these preparations are finished, the new bill format will be introduced nationwide.

The introduction of simplified electricity bills is part of a wider reform agenda for improving service delivery in Pakistan’s power sector. By making bills easier to understand, authorities hope to reduce consumer confusion and strengthen trust between electricity providers and customers.
