Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecom Anusha Rahman said that Pakistan is going to establish a state-of-the-art technology park on some 45 acres of land in Islamabad with assistance of Korean Exim Bank and two more technology parks are in the process of being built. She also said that two more technology parks in other parts of the country are also in the pipeline.
Ms Anusha Rehman said this when Minister for IT Balochistan Mr. Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal called her Islamabad on Saturday. Secretary IT Baluchistan Dr. Umer Babar was also accompanying the minister.
Pakistan is Going to Establish a State of the Art Technology Park, Anusha
Anusha Rahman said that federal government is already focusing on the development of under-served areas of Pakistan and committed to provide connectivity to all remote of areas of Balochistan. She also said about three rural telephony projects that have been approved by Universal Service Fund (USF) Board which will be executed in Sibi, Zhob & Shangla. In Balochistan- Sibi lot four districts namely Sibi, Barkhan, Killa Saifullah & Loralai will be included and 258 Mauza’s with the population of around 437,508 will get connected. Likewise, in Zhob lot, districts Musakhel, Sherani & Zhob having 186 mauzas with population of around 386,126 will be connected. She said this during a meeting with Minister for Information Technology Baluchistan Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal.
She gladly shared the process of “tele-centre project” which is executed by USF and has entered into implementation phase and we are going to build telecentres in rural areas of Balochistan as well. These telecentres will work as resource centres providing basic telecom, Nadra related services e-services in first phase to the inhabitants of these areas.
Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, appreciated the activities of the federal government and Ministry of Information Technology for the development of under-served areas of Balochistan and congratulate the Minister on successful implementation of “e-office system in Ministry of IT, and requested for assistance in replication of e-office module in Balochistan.
Minister of state for IT assured her utmost cooperation to the provincial IT Minister and to provide e-office suite to Balochistan as well.
