Pakistan Performs Better than India in Ookla Internet Speed Test

Out of 122 countries, Pakistan was ranked 89th whereas India was ranked as 109th. Ookla has released its November edition of speed test Global Index.Pakistan Performs Better than India in Ookla Internet Speed Test.

Out of total 122 Countries, Pakistan is ranked 89th in the mobile internet network. India is ranked 109th in the mobile Internet speed while its neighboring countries – Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka – have registered better speed.

The report also revealed that Pakistan has slipped three position from last year and India has slipped one position. However still Pakistan was able to perform better than India in Internet speed test by Ookla. In Pakistan the Mobile Internet speed is calculated to be 13.08 Mbps.

Ookla said that it analyses the performance of the Internet in every country based on consumer-initiated tests taken by real people using Speedtest.

The telecom sector of Pakistan has undergone through huge transformations after the arrival of 3G and 4G services in the country. From the increase in mobile phone penetration to the launch of various m-Services; Pakistan’s telecom sector has become a success story for some regional countries who are left behind in technological race.

Out of total, 75 percent of Pakistani population has access to broadband internet. previously Pakistan was lagging behind in adoption of latest technologies and internet. To cater this issue, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications has deployed around 91,000 Kilometers fiber optic in Pakistan.
