Pakistan Railways e-Ticketing System Makes Annual Sale Record of 1 Crore

With the launch of various technologies across the globe; the public sector is more significantly becoming digitized as e-Governance initiatives is the core of public services. Similarly in Pakistan as well, the Government has introduced many tech reforms to facilitate the general public. There are few departments that are unfortunately not reaping the benefits of technology e.g. Pakistan Post etc. Whereas recently, some of the departments have come up with innovative initiatives. Last year, Pakistan Railways has relaunched its e-ticketing regime to enable passengers to get their seats reserved while remaining at home or at workplace. This made Pakistan Railways finally a part of the digital world.

Pakistan Railways e-Ticketing System Makes Annual Sale Record of 1 Crore

According to details available on railways website and app, the daily sale of tickets has reached Rs. 1 crore. This is great achievement in such a short period of time.

e-Ticketing facility was introduced back in 2007 but was discontinued after some months and was then relaunched last year.

Additionally, this is first time in the history of Pakistan Railways that around 10 lac duplicate tickets have been issued till date.
