Now a days many people work from home and earn good amount while going no where. In no time global freelance industry has flourished with many freelancers all over the world earning livelihood from internet. Pakistan Ranked 4th for Freelancing in Software Development and Technology Sector.

A report, “Online Labour Index” is published by The Oxford Institute from 1-6 July, 2017. This report is coined from four freelancing websites that included Fiverr Freelancer, Guru and People Per Hour.

Freelancers from different countries are classified based on six basic categories that are :

  • Software Development and Technology
  • Creative and Multimedia
  • Writing and Translation
  • Clerical and Data Entry
  • Sales and Marketing Support
  • Professional Services

This report is concluded on basis of traffic statistics. The four website mentioned above represent at least 40 percent of the global market for platform-based online work. No doubt Pakistan has a lot of talent when it comes to freelancing.

Pakistan has got 4th position globally in the category of Software Development and Technology. Many universities in Pakistan are offering software and IT degree and due to demand of this field many individuals have chosen to opt for ever growing field.

Many people in Pakistan manage to freelance with their regular jobs to make good amount of money. However many choose not to do 9-5 job, instead they earn better while working at home. However we can not forget that many can’t get good job, which is also a reason of high freelancing rate in Pakistan.

First, second and third position is acquired by India, Bangladesh and United States respectively. The largest overall supplier of online labor according to the data is the traditional outsourcing destination India, which is home to 24 percent of the workers observed. According to report, Pakistan is home to 9% of total freelancers.
