Pakistan Witnesses 36.41 Million 3G/4G Subscribers till Nov 2016

No doubt with the launch of 3G and 4G services in Pakistan, many opportunities are welcomed and with each passing day we are witnessing a rise in 3G/4G subscribers. According to the recent report issued by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the number of 3G/4G users in Pakistan reached 36.41 million at the end of November 2016, up from 35.5 million in October 2016.

Overall mobile phone users have also witnessed an increase in the number. They have reached 135.866 million by end of November 2016, up from 134.911 million at the end of October 2016.

According to the PTA stats, the number of 3G users of Mobilink, Zong and Telenor reached 12.148 million, 6.824 million and 9.504 million by end of November 2016 as compared to 11.779 million, 6.680 million and 9.237 million by end of October respectively.

Whereas 3G users of Ufone witnessed a decline. The users decreased from 5,245,299 in October to 5,219,952 by end of November 2016; which shows the deteriorating market position of Ufone, which was once the no. 1 mobile operator of Pakistan.

The number of LTE and 4G users of Warid and Zong were also recorded at 635,054 and 2,080,720 respectively as compared to that of 599,785 and 1,903,285 by the end of October 2016. Warid and Zong witnessed an increase in their users in November 2016.

Teledensity for cellular mobile also reached 69.60%. Whereas mobile broadband subscribers augmented to 36,412,247 during November 2016 from 35,446,843 in October.
