Pakistani Crypto Expert Waqar Zaka Wins Global Trading Competition, Awarded 2026 Mercedes G-Wagon

Pakistani technology entrepreneur and cryptocurrency expert Waqar Zaka has won a global trading competition, outperforming more than 3,000 participants from around the world. As the winner of the TradFi Competition, he received a brand-new 2026 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon during a prize ceremony in Dubai.
The global event brought together individual traders who competed remotely using their own money. Unlike crypto-only contests, the competition tested participants across multiple financial markets, including stocks, gold, silver, commodities, and cryptocurrencies. Contestants were judged on their overall trading performance without the support of teams, referrals, or promotional activities.

According to the competition results, all three leading traders started with $100,000 in trading capital. Waqar Zaka secured first place by achieving a 74 percent return, earning $74,000 in profit and increasing his account value to $174,000 within 20 days. A trader from South Korea finished second with a 57 percent return, while a participant from China claimed third place with a 35 percent return.
This marks a major improvement from last year when Zaka finished eighth in a similar international competition. During this year’s contest, he initially climbed to fourth place before eventually taking the top position. Zaka became the first Pakistani trader to win an international multi-asset online trading competition of this kind.
People in Pakistan recognize Zaka for his contributions to cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government previously appointed him to support cryptocurrency and blockchain initiatives, reinforcing his position as an industry expert.
His latest achievement has also renewed discussion around his long-standing proposal that Pakistan should build a national Bitcoin reserve. For several years, Zaka has argued that the government should purchase Bitcoin and hold it as a strategic national asset. He believes that the long-term growth in Bitcoin’s value could help reduce the country’s debt and lower its dependence on international lenders.
Supporters have pointed out that Zaka promoted this idea years before similar discussions gained attention internationally. He began publicly advocating for cryptocurrency in 2016, when Bitcoin was trading at a much lower price, and has continued to discuss the concept through television appearances, YouTube videos, and social media.

Beyond trading, Zaka has also been involved in legal efforts related to cryptocurrency regulation in Pakistan. In 2019, he filed a constitutional petition in the Sindh High Court regarding the legal status of cryptocurrencies and the role of the State Bank of Pakistan. The case became an important part of the country’s early debate on digital asset regulation and helped bring greater attention to the need for clear policies.
He has also promoted the use of blockchain technology for humanitarian purposes. Through various initiatives, he has demonstrated how to use cryptocurrencies to deliver transparent financial assistance to refugees and other vulnerable communities.
In addition to his work in finance and technology, Zaka has encouraged young Pakistanis to pursue higher education at leading international universities. With an academic background in civil engineering and business education from Stanford Graduate School of Business, he often emphasizes the importance of knowledge, innovation, and global exposure as key factors for long-term success.
His victory in the TradFi Competition adds another milestone to his career and further strengthens his profile as one of Pakistan’s most recognized figures in the cryptocurrency and digital finance sector.
