Pakistani Youngster Wins Second Prize at NASA Contest

A Pakistani student, Shah Mir Aizaz, won second prize in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Ames Space Settlement Design Contest 2015 for his design titled, ‘Beyond Infinity – Eros Outer Atmosphere Settlement’.

He is a student of O’ Levels, participated in the annual design competition for students. The students from grade 7 to grade 12 can take part in this competition. The competition is sponsored by the NASA Ames Research Center and the National Space Society NSS.

Every year students are invited from all over the world to submit space settlement designs to NASA Ames for judgement. This year entries came from 21 nations worldwide and 14 different states from USA.  From Pakistan Shah Mir Aizaz took part in the competition as an individual and this Pakistani Youngster Wins Second Prize at NASA Contest.

Students can take part in this contest as individuals, small teams of two to five, and large teams of six or more. Shah Mir Aizaz took part in this as an individual. There were a total of 994 submissions this year, from 3,007 students overall taught by 380 teachers.

NASA is set a contest for all aspiring developers to build a smartwatch app for astronauts and win $1500 as a prize. The deadline for the task is September 9 2015. So, if you are interested you have 3 weeks to develop this smartwatch.
