Parliamentary Secretary Barrister Danyal Chaudhry Calls for Strategic AI Adoption at AI X Future Summit 2025

Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, has called for the strategic adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support Pakistan’s national development. He shared these views while delivering the keynote address as Chief Guest at the AI X Future Summit 2025, held at Bahria University.

The summit brought together educators, policymakers, media professionals, and students to discuss the growing role of AI in governance, media, and innovation. Participants explored how emerging technologies can shape the country’s future and improve public systems.

In his address, Barrister Danyal described AI as a powerful force that is already influencing the present, rather than a concept of the future. He explained that AI has the potential to transform Pakistan’s economy, governance structures, and information environment if adopted thoughtfully and strategically.

He also highlighted the government’s focus on digital innovation under the National Economic Transformation Plan, Uraan Pakistan 2024–2029. According to him, technology-driven governance and digital solutions are key elements of the country’s long-term development strategy.

Barrister Danyal emphasized that AI can help improve transparency, efficiency, and inclusivity within public institutions. He noted that areas such as information sharing, media regulation, and citizen engagement can particularly benefit from the responsible use of AI tools.

Addressing the media sector, he spoke about the opportunities and challenges AI presents. While AI can help counter misinformation and strengthen public trust, he stressed the importance of ethical guidelines and cooperation between government, media, and technology experts to ensure responsible use.

The summit concluded with a shared understanding that AI, when guided by strong policies and ethical standards, can play a meaningful role in Pakistan’s progress and governance.
