Azfar Manzoor Replaces Umar Saif as the New Chairman PITB

Punjab Government has appointed Azfar Manzoor as chairman PITB (Punjab Information Technology Board). Previously Dr Habeeb-ur-Rehman Gillani had taken the charge from Dr Umar Saif who was the founder of PITB and served PITB for five consecutive governments. Dr Habeeb is the chairman of the Planning and Development Department and he was given an additional charge. Now the new addition of Azfar Mehmood will relive him from it. Being an electrical and CS engineer, Mr Azfar has experience in the tech sector.

Azfar Manzoor Selected as the New Chairman PITB

He founded World Online (WOL) when the internet was a new technology in Pakistan. Moreover, WOL was later sold to Orascom Group. Later on, he served on the board for Universal Service Fund for over five years. He studied in  Aitchison College Lahore, then LUMS and later on completed his higher education from the MIT United States. After passing the CSS exam, he served as the federal government. Azfar has been holding the regional chair of MIT in Pakistan.

Keeping in view the IT background lets see will he be able to fill the shoes of legendary Umar Saif.
