PITB has launched its Cloud Computing Services

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has launched its Data Centre and Cloud Computing Services, the launching ceremony for which was held at the Arfa Software Technology Park, Lahore.

The cloud computing services project, which is named “Cloud for Everyone”, offers public and private sector four diverse packages VPS Hosting, Hosted Exchange, Share-point Hosting and Website Hosting. These services have the capability to cater hosting and IT needs of well-established businesses as well as start-ups at compensable price range.

Information technology is globally recognized as a vital tool for accelerated economic growth, efficient governance and human resource development.

Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) was set up by the Government of Punjab as an autonomous body to use synergies of the IT industry, academic institutions, and the government representatives on the PITB board to develop and implement consequential strategies, to enable our province to achieve its IT potential.

PITB mission is to “Develop IT as a major sphere of economic activity for sustainable development, and promote its use in the public and private sectors for increasing efficiency and competitiveness”.

Therefore it is our job to be aware of the needs and aspirations of the region and its people and to ensure that the projects undertaken meet everybody’s expectations and also create new opportunities for the people. This way we are also hopeful in promoting economic growth in the IT sector through e-Governance Policies, IT Education and creation of Software Technology Parks.
