PITB Introduces Online Centralized FIR Management System in 36 Districts of Punjab

Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has proudly introduced Online Centralized FIR Management System in 36 Districts of Punjab. This technology will help to improve the efficiency of police investigations. Moreover, this technology will also ensure speedy resolution of citizens’ complaints.

Public Safety is one of the top-most priorities of any Government. A safe and secure environment is essential for economic growth, social prosperity and political development of a society. Police, as the primary law enforcement agency in the province, bears the responsibility for providing safety and security through control of crime and maintenance of public order.

PITB has launched this system back in 2016. Now in 36 district of Punjab, the system has initialized . Presently all FIRs are being entered in the system and corresponding entries into different registers are done electronically by the system itself. The supervisory officers can see status of a specific case and also obtain other information like recovery, witnesses, sureties, case diaries, name of victims, name of accused, name of witnesses, challan date, next date of hearing, gender of victims etc.

PITB has also launched a number of projects including automation of police stations, finger print records, driving licenses and e-ticketing. Recently, Pakistan Railways Minister has initiated Pakistan Railways’ own e-ticketing system. Pakistan Railway Department has generated Rs 100 million for selling e-tickets within two months.

Not only Punjab Police, KP police has also been digitized and equipped with modern technologies and training stations. No doubt, Digitization of KP Police has made it so easier for them to decrease the crime rate. Moreover, By using latest gadgets and technology KP Police record 1.1 million FIRs.
