PITB has worked on many initiative for the digitization of Pakistan. After huge success of digitization of Pakistan Hajj pilgrimage, many Countries have approached PITB for replication of this system. PITB to Help Nigerian Hajj Operations System Go Digital.
The Punjab Information Technology Board has developed an Online Pilgrim Registration platform on the request of National Hajj Commission Nigeria. The digitization of Nigerian Hajj operations will fasten up the whole Hajj process for the year 2017.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria had approached the Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony. They asked for development an information and communication technology (ICT) platform similar to the one developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board for Pakistan’s Hajj operations. The Nigerian delegation had visited Pakistan’s Hajj Mission in Makkah twice for implementation of Hajj Operations .

Approximately, 95,000 pilgrims from Nigeria are expected to perform Hajj out of which 20,000 will opt for private tour operators and 75,000 through government arrangements.
The PITB’s online registration platform has 15 modules which includes registration if Hajj applications, selection of pilgrims through e-balloting, automatic flight scheduling and centralized Hajj camps. The designated team from PITB visited Nigeria in March 2017 to maintain required data for this process.
PITB launched Nigeria’s Online pilgrims registration in may 2017.They also trained five master trainers so that they can train officials in the 36 Nigerian states.
PITB has also created a system to register complaints to handle issues during hajj operations. This online platform in Pakistan has improved the Hajj operations and has helped to get rid of delays.
