PM Internship Programme to Provide Internship Opportunities to 3,000 IT Graduates. Within a matter of no time new graduates will have an opportunity to do internship. They will be given a chance to work in major banks, IT and telecom companies.

Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), a department of Ministry of IT and Telecom has been notified to make all preparations and guarantee internship for IT graduates for a span of six months during the year 2016-17.

Official sources revealed that PSEB has been requested to advance plans and issue advertisements about internships in mainstream dailies at the first.

According to sources these interns would be placed at IT companies, IT departments of telecom sector companies and banks. So that IT graduates could improve the skill set to surge their employability potentials.

PSEB would also develop a new communicating web portal for internship programme. By integrating necessary details of all IT companies registered with PSEB. It will ensure whether it’s being updated on a regular basis or not.

Answering to a question regarding CMMI documentation of potential companies, the sources said it has been initiated. In first part 21 nominated companies were being trained. The CMMI certification of potential IT companies would not only benefit capability building but also boost their standing in eyes of foreign consumers.

Furthermore, it will be cost effective to use these home-grown inspectors for CMMI certification. Rather than using foreign auditors which are costly, the sources further added.
