Pakistan citizen portal is one of the PTI’s initial steps. The PTI government initiated the portal on October 28, 2018. The primary motive of this portal was to register complaints. And they must be related to all the government and public offices. It clearly indicates that serious actions will be taken. If any government official does misconduct or show discrimnatory behavior towards citizens.
PM issues warning over non-compliance of Pakistan citizen portal
Apparently, it filled the crowd with utter satisfaction. Because, traditionally a problem of misconduct by government officials is rusting our country since its advent. Pakistan citizen portal provided a hope to many suppressed people who remained a victim of misbehavior from government officials.
Unfortunately, the difference still remains in actual implementation. Prime Minister Office (PMO) scrutinized the current situation. And concluded that complaints were inclined without proper inquiry, satisfactory reply, and documentary evidence. Along with that, the PMO stated that departments took “unnecessary time” in giving reaction to complaints and the verdict to resolve complaints was taken by “unconcerned officials”.
In order to tackle this situation, PM issued a letter to federal as well as provincial departments and ministries. In that letter some new planning was told. A five-member committee will be led by a GPS 20 officer or a joint secretary. It will be followed by assessment and evaluation of the deployed officers. Afterwards, a report will be submitted to PMO.
Furthermore, the committees will examine misbehavior and poor conduct in reports on the portal for both resolved and pending complaints. It will also indicate those who made bad performance. And also highlight the ones with good performance.
Pakistan citizen portal is a ray of hope for all mediocre people living in Pakistan. Similar surveillance measures like this notice issued by PM must be taken. This is the only way for it to truly function affectively. And ultimately lead the life of many in dignity.
