In a meeting held in Capital of Norway, Oslo, the CEO of Telenor Norway, Jon Fredrik Baksaas, met Prime Minister Pakistan, Mr. Nawaz Sharif. This meeting was held on Oslo Summit on Wednesday. This meeting was in short a sweet Appraisal from CEO Telenor Norway.
The CEO Telenor Norway, appreciated the efforts of government of Pakistan by saying that Pakistan is the gateway to Central Asia, Gulf, and the West Asia because Pakistan has a market filled with opportunities.
He further mentioned that Pakistan’s policy trends had been consistent in libealization, deregulation, privatisation and in facilitating in all areas.

He said that consumer market is growing so rapidly in Pakistan which is also reflected by tele-density which right now has reached to 125 Million.
He added that telecom sector of Pakistan was attracted to investment after deregulation and in the previous 10 years Billion of Dollars had been invested in telecom infrastructure in the country.
He shortly explained the arrival of Telenor to Pakistan back in 2004 and its history. The company right now is employing more than 2000 people directly and between 30,000-40,000 people indirectly having 34 million customers in the country which is a large amount of people having a market share of more than 50%. In the long run the company wants to enter in micro-finance sector.
Mr. Baksaas said that Pakistan is only country in the world who have done bio-metric verification of mobile phone SIMs which will help a lot in the digitalisation of country.
In short, this meeting was a great appraisal for our country and Prime Minster Mr. Nawaz Sharif as the CEO appreciated Pakistan’s efforts on its way to prosperity.
