Podcaster Rehan Tariq Reportedly Taken Into Custody by NCCIA at Lahore Airport

Podcaster Rehan Tariq was reportedly taken into custody by officials of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) after arriving at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport from London in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to family members, Rehan Tariq landed at the airport shortly after 1:00am. Relatives said he was stopped during airport procedures before NCCIA officials arrived and escorted him away.

A close family member confirmed that the podcaster was taken into NCCIA custody at the airport. The exact reason for his detention was not immediately disclosed.

Journalist Muhammad Umair claimed that a case against Rehan Tariq has been registered with the NCCIA in Lahore. He further stated that during routine airport screening, authorities found that Tariq’s name appeared on the PNIL (Provisional National Identification List), following which he was arrested.

However, these claims have not been independently confirmed by the authorities.

When approached for comment, an NCCIA spokesperson declined to provide any details about the incident.

As of the time of publication, no official statement has been issued by the NCCIA or any other government authority explaining the circumstances of Rehan Tariq’s detention, confirming the reported case, or stating whether any formal charges have been filed against him.
