Prevention of Electronic Crimes Bill 2015 Reaches National Assebly – Anusha Rahman

Prevention of Electronic Crimes Bill 2015 has been sent to the National Assembly Standing Committee on IT & Telecom after extensive Deliberations: Anusha Rahman.

After extensive and ceaseless deliberations of weeks by the “Special Review Committee” finally “Prevention of electronic crimes Bill 2015” has been sent to the National Assembly Standing committee today.

It is pertinent to mention here that this “Special Review Committee” was constituted on direction of the National Assembly Standing Committee on IT & Telecom, comprising of technical and legal experts and MNAs. This committee was mandated to review the proposed prevention of electronic crimes bill 2015.

The Minister Anusha Rahman said:

[pull_quote_center]This committee has minutely and thoroughly analyzed this Cyber Bill 2015 clause by clause in order to make it more compatible with National Action Plan. So that it could cater the growing needs of Cyber related challenges which we are facing in the wake of increasing terrorism phenomenon in the country. It was no doubt a gigantic task and we had to have lengthy session of discussions & multiple review meetings. Now, Alhamdulillah this bill along with proposed amendments has been submitted before the National Assembly Standing Committee on IT & Telecom for further necessary action in this regard.[/pull_quote_center]
