For an Android tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 does a lot right. It includes a fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and expandable storage with 128GB or 256GB that can be increased up to 1TB with a microSD card. Samsung’s new upgrades to its DeX mode make the Tab S6 a more plausible laptop replacement than previous generations. The Tab S6 is lighter and slimmer than its predecessor, the Tab S4, which seemed significantly clunkier while having the same 10.5-inch AMOLED display. The Tab S6 sports reduced bezels and rounded corners, similar to the iPad Pro, giving it a more minimalist appearance. Samsung may have gone too far in deleting the tablet’s headphone port, but it makes up for it with quad speakers calibrated by AKG and Dolby Atmos. In terms of battery life, the previous Tab S4’s 7040-mAh battery outperformed the S6’s 7,040-mAh battery. According to Samsung, the Tab S4 can be used for around 16 hours, and the new S6 can be used for approximately 15 hours. The battery lasted 10 hours and 59 minutes in CNET Labs’ streaming video test.
