Prime Minister Assigns Key National Digitalization Task to PDA to Drive Digital Growth

The Prime Minister has assigned the Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA) a critical national task to lead the country’s digitalization efforts. Acting on the Prime Minister’s directives, the Pakistan Digital Authority has accelerated work on the Digital Pakistan Agenda.
According to officials of the Pakistan Digital Authority, the process of finalizing the National Digital Master Plan has formally begun. Extensive consultations are currently underway with all four provinces as well as relevant stakeholders to ensure broad alignment and inclusion in the planning process.

Officials stated that once finalized, the National Digital Master Plan will be presented to the National Digital Commission for approval.
The National Digital Master Plan structures around three core pillars. The first pillar will focus on the Digital Economy, which aims to promote online businesses, attract investment, and strengthen private-sector participation in the digital ecosystem.
The second pillar will be the Digital Society, with an emphasis on improving public access to digital services, enhancing digital literacy, and expanding digital facilities across the country.
The third pillar will be Digital Governance, designed to improve state systems through the use of digital technologies. Under this pillar, the government also aims to enhance transparency, modernize governance structures, and improve service delivery to citizens.
Officials emphasized that the National Digital Master Plan will serve as a comprehensive roadmap to transform Pakistan into a digitally enabled economy and society, aligning governance, economic growth, and public services with modern digital standards.
