Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) is planing to develop an Android application in collaboration with Punjab Commission on Status of Women. The main purpose for this App development is to safe guard the status of Women in society. It will also help to report and combat harassment faced by women across the province. After the development of this App, women will be able to inform the police integrated command, control and communication (PPIC3) officials related to the harassment they are fronting with their exact geographical location.

The police officials will then dispatch to tackle the situation as soon as possible. The punishments will be in accordance with the harassment laws. This persecution not only includes Public harassment but also harassment at domestic and workplace.
This application would mainly have two usage: to create awareness about harassment and to help women out of it. App would have mainly three modes including a panic button for emergency situations.
According to Shamsher Haider, Deputy Chief System Integration at the PSCA, special desk will be designated which will answer calls generated from the application. Phone calls done by women will be directed to the 15 helpline.
These operators have undergone special training to effectively deal with cases of various forms of harassment.However officials have not mentioned how the law enforcement agencies will be sensitized to ensure that female harassment cases are dealt with delicately and adequately.

We already have laws where women can report abuse and assault, but the process of filing that FIR, or even stepping into the police station, means preparing yourself for a character assassination first
IT department of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is working on development of this App. It is expected to be launched by the end of December 2016.
