PTA Inaugurates INET Islamabad Conference for Digital Economy
Today Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in partnership with Internet Society (ISOC) Asia-Pacific Bureau has inaugurated the INET Islamabad conference at 9:3 am in Serena hotel Islamabad.
The conference fundamentally focused on “Digital Economy in Pakistan: Building ICT Agenda for Sustainable Development”. Speakers from Asia Pacific region including speakers from International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT), and national experts shared their views in this conference. They widely discussed the opportunities and issues in internet developments and challenges in the digital world. The conference discussed following main topics on it’s first day:
- UNESCAP-ISOC-ADB Regional Study launch
- Connectivity for Sustainable Development
- Digital Financial Inclusion
- Building Trust in Cyberspace
INET Islamabad actually brought together over 250 participants from the Government sector, fixed and mobile telecom operators, internet service providers, academic institutions, banks, ICT entrepreneurs, commercial companies and the general public.
