PTA Reveals the Number of Active SIMs Reached to 123 million

Latest Report revealed by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) demonstrates that mobile users in Pakistan have increased as the number of active SIMs has been increased by 1.6 million in the country. At the end of Oct 2015, number of active SIMs has been reached to 122.595 million. After the verification of SIMs through Biometric Verification System (BVS) earlier this year number of the active SIMs reached to 111.5 million.

PTA Reveals the Number of Active SIMs Reached to 123 million

According to report the number of 3G users of telecom networks like Zong, Mobilink, Ufone and Telenor have also increased by October 15 2015

  • Zong reached to 4.088 million
  • Mobilink reached to 6.043 million,
  • Ufone reached to 3.773 million
  • Telenor reached to 5.768 million

However the number of 3G/4G users has also increased to 20.075 million by October 2015 which is a ;large increase as compare to September 2015. The number of users in September was 18.040 million.

The report by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) also revealed that the number of total celluler subscribers reached to 122.595 million in October 15 2015 which were 120.94 million in the month of September in current year.

The cellular companies of the country have successfully completed the Biometric Verification of SIMs within the deadline that was provided by the interior ministry. During this drive, a total of 98 million SIMs were blocked as they were not verified by the users while total 125 million SIMs were verified, as per PTA stats. Now PTA Reveals the Number of Active SIMs Reached to 123 million which is surely a great news for telecom operators.
