IMEI is a unique number of 15 digits that are embedded in every mobile phone, GSM modem or even a device with a built-in phone/modem by the company. Also if the user is unaware of its IMEI code then he/she can dial *#06# to get IMEI number of his/her mobile phone. This number will us him to register complaint in case he losses in phone somewhere or it is stolen by a thief.

The system (PTA) will block the mobile phone and it will not be reused, thus overall discouraging the culture of snatching of mobile phones in Pakistan.
