PTCL Razakar Program A Big Success Across Pakistan

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the country’s leading ICT services provider, has launched ‘PTCL Razakar Program,’ a program under which an employee force with over 400 Razakars (volunteers) has been formed to participate in philanthropic activities on behalf of the company. The program recently initiated its first initiative – The Box of Happiness – with the simple aim to put smiles on the faces of orphan children and remind everyone of the necessity of caring for them.

Expressing his views about the launch of PTCL Razakar, Syed Mazhar Hussain, Chief Human Resource Officer, PTCL said,

“PTCL has been serving the nation since its inception and has undertaken a number of CSR initiatives throughout its history as part of its contribution to the society. We believe that being a Pakistani company, it is our responsibility to continue making significant positive impact in the community and launch of our PTCL Razakar program is another step in that direction.I am glad to announce that currently 400 employees have joined the Razakar force and many more employees have shown interest in being a part of the philanthropic activities carried out by PTCL”.

The Box of Happiness initiative received a very encouraging response as exciting events were arranged in different orphanages across Pakistan, and around 1000 hand-packed gift boxes were distributed among deserving children from these orphanages,which included Rung Mahal and Aghosh Hostel Lahore, Child Protection Bureau Gujranwala, ApnaGhar Faisalabad, SOS Children’s Village Multan and Peshawar, AghoshAlkhidmat Home Dera Ismail Khan, Edhi Home Karachi, Dar-ul-Falah Hyderabad, Sweet Home Sukkur and Dar-e-Falah Quetta. The largest event, as part of the initiative, was organized at the SOS Children’s Village in Islamabad where children were entertained with various morale boosting activities such as jumping castle, face painting, magic show, etc. PTCL Razakars went the extra mile to connect with the children on a personal level to uplift their spirits and help them aspire for a bright future.

PTCL is a socially responsible organization and promotes the fostering of societal development. The spirit is deeply entrenched in its roots and is the inspiration behind this initiative. The Razakar Program has emerged as an integral part of the company’s CSR initiatives, as the company plans to undertake many activities covering Health, Education, Youth Development, Inclusion, Environment and Disaster Response.
