PTCL Restores the Services in Lahore after Sunday Night Fire

The fire that broke out in the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited exchange building in the week hours of Sunday was brought under control after hectic efforts of three hours and the services were also partially restored in Lahore. According to an official spokesperson for PTCL, technical staff of the company has been working day and night since the fire for the restoration of the services. As a result of their untiring efforts in some areas, the services are fully restored, he added.

Around 20,000 landlines services were completely suspended on its Edgerton Road telephone exchange which badly affected various government offices functions as a majority of them are linked with the exchange.

The services of other cellular operators also affected with the PTCL infrastructure damage due to which users of some cellular companies also faced connectivity issues.

The company official said the Internet and other services in many parts of the city dependent on the Edgerton Road telephone exchange were restored.
