PTCL & Ufone Services Faced Massive Internet, Cellular Outage. Due to some major fault in PTCL back end network mainly its fibre cable, PTCL data and Ufone services in different parts of the country remained disrupted yesterday due to which customers faced inconvenience for few hours. The list of major cities where services were down and then restored within 5 hours include Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar whereas other parts of Sindh and Baluchistan, the efforts are still underway to restore PTCL & Ufone services.

Ufone being the subsidiary of PTCL, use the same cable to provide internet services due to which its 3G was also not working.

PTCL spokesperson informed media that the fibre cable is being cut at different places which lead to this major breakdown.

The officials ensured that efforts remain underway for many hours in order to restore the services.

Imran Janjua, General Manager Public Outreach, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) ensured that teams have been sent to identify the cause of disruption and the problem will be resolved within hourse.

It was also said by PTCL officials that this shut down was due to the developmental work in Karachi’s Nooriabad area. However their land-line services are working in the whole country.
