Punjab Govt. Collects Record Rs 400bn Through e-Pay Punjab

The government’s payment aggregator, e-pay Punjab is an an online platform for collecting taxes and fees paid through different electronic channels. Recent reports claim that the Punjab government has collected record tax revenue of over Rs 400 billion through this platform. Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) shared details regarding online transactions through this system. It has been revealed that the number of online transactions through e-Pay Punjab has crossed the mark of 50 million. The trend of online payments by Punjab citizens increased significantly as more than 30 lakh citizens have downloaded the App so far.

E-Pay Punjab Becomes Reliable E-Payment Gateway For Citizens

PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf stated that the platform has added new services to facilitate its users. The payment aggregator aims to provide maximum convenience to its users. In a recent development, payment of registration fees of private colleges has also been added to the platform. It is worth mentioning here that 84 taxes of 18 departments in­cluding the Punjab Land Records Authority can be paid through the portal. The purpose is to streamline processes and make government services more accessible to the public.

For all those unaware, e-Pay Punjab was developed by the PITB in collaboration with the Punjab Finance Department and 1Link in October 2029. The platform allows payments via ATM, internet banking, mobile banking, or over-the-counter by visiting the nearest 1Link member banks. Citizens can also pay taxes through Telco Agents and mobile wallets.
