Punjab Govt Partners with Huawei to Promote e-Services in Pakistan. The Government of Punjab in partnership with Huawei Technologies Pakistan (Pvt) Limited is going to begin e-healthcare and e-education pilot projects in the province.

Chairman Planning & Development Punjab Jahanzeb Khan, while addressing the agreement signing ceremony held at P&D Lahore said that,

 “Huawei Technologies Company has agreed to set-up e-services pilot projects in four hospitals, one university, one college, one high school and one elementary school free of cost in Punjab as its pilot projects.”

Under the Chairmanship of Chairman Planning and Development Punjab Jahanzeb Khan, Secretary Specialized Healthcare Punjab Najam Ali Shah, Secretary Primary & Secondary Health Care Ali Jan and Huawei Chief Executive Officer Saif-Chi jointly signed the contract documents.

Chairman P&D Jahanzeb Khan further added that the Punjab Government remains dedicated to elevate the Health & Education Sectors with the technical support of global companies. Health and education are the significant pillars of the country and he valued the efforts of Huawei Technologies in this regard. Integrating electronic technology in these sectors will help in the growth of the province.

At the occasion, Saif-Chi Chief Executive Officer Huawei Technologies also said that Huawei Technologies Company is already engaged with Punjab Government to enhance the Development Sectors in the Province.

Huawei will deliver technical & development support to implement Huawei E-Education and E-Health pilot projects in Punjab.

Hospitals such as Children Hospital Lahore, DH Muzaffargarh, TH Hospital Gojra and Rural Health Centers at Khanqah Dogran Sheikhupura will be provided technical assistance in healthcare solutions. Huawei will deliver medical service solutions via telemedicine applications, which comprise remote doctor visits, surgery demos, consultation services and other medical videos on demand. For this purpose Hospital Information Management System will also be installed at healthcare centers.

Under this agreement, a smart E-Class Room will be established at the I.T University Lahore as well in order to promote interactive learning and enable students communicate with the scholars of other universities. Other organizations to get these services are Directorate of Staff Development Lahore, Government High School Raiwind Lahore and Government College of Elementary Teachers, Multan. Campus Monitoring System will also be set up which will support live video recording.

With such technological advancements our country will enter into more advanced countries list in the region soon. Punjab Government is already working on other such initiatives and has introduced many reforms to help the general public.
