QMobile Noir S1 PRO Review

It was July 2015 when we met QMobile Noir S1 that was first introduction of QMobile S-series to user. Through the year 2015, QMobile has kept launching the other members of S-series. However this time, QMobile has set to launch Pro version of Noir S1 that is QMobile Noir S1 Pro.

Let’s quickly go through to the specification sheet before jump into detail review. QMobile Noir S1 Pro is unveiled with 5.0 inch FWVGA display with thick bezel around the screen. The inside is Media Tek 1.3 GHz Quad-core Processor, 1 GB RAM, 5MP Rear and front camera as well. Underneath, the battery is 2200 mAh. The latest Android Marshmallow has been put to operate the QMobile Noir S1 Pro smoothly and efficiently.

Well, it was the fire introduction, when you check the specs sheet. It hard to differentiate between the specs of Noir and Noir S1, nothing as such is seen except the Android Marshmallow and battery has added up 200mah more. This might me the QMobile has kept the below 10K, and Noir S1 Pro is available at price of Rs.8500/-.

Display of QMobile Noir S1 PRO:

The QMobile Noir S1 Pro features 5.0 inch capacitive panel with 480 x 854 resolution which is same as Noir S1, this might be a bit alarming for QMobile as well, as we were expecting HD IPS display. The FWVGA screen has 240 dpi that is reasonable for normal use but in sunlight, it would definitely trouble because it does not have light sensor. You will have to manual set screen brightness.

Design of QMobile Noir S1 PRO:

The Noir S1 Pro is 5.0 is a compact and handy smartphone, it spreads at 144 x 71 x 9 mm which is taller and wider than the previous edition. S1 Pro is totally different from Noir S1 in term of design the body is made of polycarbonate plastic.

The display panel has thick bezel around display, which is pretty noticeable and gives the feel of Kevlar material though it’s nothing but plastic.

Above the 5 incher capacitive display panel is earpiece placed at center, flanked with 5 MP front camera and Proximity sensor, let me tell you it does not hold the light sensor.

The bottom of screen are has nothing to carry, however the home key and other function keys have been placed inside the capacitive screen

On the right, there is volume rocker and power/lock key, while the left edge has nothing to place.

The audio jack is at top edge that slightly been pushed from center to right corner. The bottom of Noir S1 Pro carries Micro USB port 2.0 and the only mic of phone.

Lastly, the 5MP rear/ main camera has popped up from oval cutout on back along with LED flash.  and bottom of back has cutout for speaker/ ringer.

Memory for QMobile Noir S1 PRO:

QMobile Noir S1 Pro packs with ordinary memory combination, 1GB RAM and 8 GB ROM. Nowadays a smartphone with 1 GB RAM are ranked as entry level smartphone. The memory combination has been same from Noir S1 to Noir S1 Pro. While talking about the external memory, it can be expanded upto 64 GB through SD-card. Frankly speaking, QMobile has Provide nothing new in S1 Pro except design and battery capacity.

Camera within QMobile Noir S1 PRO:

Finally, we are at camera section, camera is the most dominant feature in QMobile Noir S1 Pro where QMobile would feel Proud. Noir S1 Pro has been pampered with 5 MP rear and 5 MP front camera, however the back camera is being supported by LED flash.

The camera Apps is simple, but toggles on screen are bit irritating though it helps at same time. The settings layout has divided into three different section.

The general settings tab has Geo-tagging, exposure, color effect, scene mode and some more setting option. While camera Tab Provides camera settings options like Zero shutter delay, Face Detection, Smile Shot, Auto Scene detection. Likewise the camera recorder has its own settings option including Microphone, Audio mode time lapse, and video quality.

Rear Camera of QMobile Noir S1 PRO:

On the back and front side, QMobile Noir S1 Pro carries a true 5MP lens with 2560×1960 pixels resolution. The image quality of Noir S1 Pro is just amazing and excellent which is truly be called master camera from a lower end smartphone.

The camera has decent color capture ability. The color sharpness and tint are well managed by QMobile that results amazing photography experience. With that it can make FHD 1080p video camera, available modes for rear camera are Panorama, face beauty, and HDR. The rear camera has touch focus and autofocus option although the front is just fixed focus.

While the front camera is only Provided with Face beauty option, and it does also lack touch focus feature.

Network / Connectivity of QMobile Noir S1 PRO:

The QMobile Noir S1 Pro supports 3G band, the both SIM supports 3G band but you can only use it on one SIM at time the second would be limited to GSM network.

The other connectivity features include WiFi b/g/n, Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and FM Radio hardware too. For physical connectivity, we have micro USB port 2.0, and audio jack 3.5 mm.

Battery Performance of QMobile Noir S1 PRO:

QMobile Noir is Provided with 2200 mAh battery, 200 mah more juice than its predecessor’s battery. It’s removable/ replaceable. We have performed our battery tests to check the might of battery.

On standby mode, the battery can easily pass two and half days. However on GSM network with normal usage it can work for 1 and half day more.

However on 3G network, the intensive usage like video streaming, browsing and call over 3G network. The battery be usable up to 6 to 7 hours.

The Noir S1 did well on all tests – 3G talks, web browsing, video playback, and it posted excellent scores on standby, which makes it a solid overall performer.

Interface of QMobile Noir S1 PRO:

The Noir S1 Pro runs latest android Marshmallow 6.0. Being a latest in android OS, it is the most efficient and flexible operating system up to date. The phone is fully packed with Google’s service. Noir S1 Pro has adopted the pure Android 6.0 Marshmallow layout and interface without going into any customization. The home scree has usual android interface.

The home interface has traditional android layout. The application menu has now been turned into white, a kind of pop up activity. The search bar is being welcomed by my android users.

The notification section has remained same in term of layout design. The storage and USB module met some changes, now you can easily fine what percentage of memory is being used out of total available space.

QMobile Noir S1 PRO Processor Performance:

QMobile Noir S1 Pro runs on the Media Tek MT6580M. The SoC features 1.3 GHz Quad core CPU. It’s an average performing chip usually comes in entry level smartphone. With 1GB RAM, the Processor is capable of handling 2 App at time, more than 2 App will result halt in Processing.

Noir S1 Pro chipset is shipped with Mali-400 MP GPU, the GPU is responsible for handling graphics matter including image Processing, playing videos etc.

Antutu Benchmarking of QMobile Noir S1 PRO:

Antutu benchmark test was carried to check the performance of its core component including RAM, Processor, GPU and 3D test as well. QMobile Noir S1 Pro noticeable sustained a good position also met our expectation, because the MT6580M is a Quad-core chipset and basic level chipset too. The 24K points for Noir S1 Pro is more than enough for QMobile Noir S1 Pro.
