Qualcomm Announces Snapdragon 850 for Windows PCs

Few days back Qualcomm launched snapdragon 710, which is the successor of snapdragon 660. Today, company has announced the Snapdragon 850, a new processor which is designed for Windows 10 PCs. These PCs have features like smartphones such as LTE-connectivity and extended battery life.

Samsung has also confirmed that it will make a 2-in-1 PC powered by the Snapdragon 850. The new Snapdragon 850 chip used in the first Always Connected PCs offers improved performance, connectivity, and battery life. It features an instant-on resume with no hibernation, integrated LTE, ARM processors and long battery life.

Snapdragon 850 is Designed for Devices Bigger than a Smartphone

Qualcomm said that the Snapdragon 850 includes both hardware and software tuning to make it better to perform PC activities than Snapdragon 845. The Snapdragon 850 is based on the same second-generation 10nm process as the 845, and paired with the same X20 modem for cellular connectivity.

The Snapdragon 850 is designed to use in devices bigger than a smartphone such as laptops and convertibles, it runs at higher clock speeds without overheating.
