Qualcomm Proudly Announces Q3 Report of Fiscal Year 2016. Qualcomm reports revenues of $6 billion for the quarter. Their operating income was $1.6 billion, Net Income of $1.4 billion, diluted earnings per share of $0.97 and operating cash flow of $1.8 billion for the quarter. All of these are increases from the previous quarter and previous year.

On a GAAP basis, quarterly net income from operations stood at $1,444 million or 97 cents per share compared with $1,184 million or 73 cents, respectively, in the year-ago quarter.

Total quarterly revenue of $6,044 million was up 3.6% year over year. Qualcomm CDMA Technologies businesses contributed $3,853 million to its revenues in the third quarter. It is 15% more from the prior-year quarter and its quarterly EBT margin stood at 9%. Qualcomm Technology Licensing generated $2,038 million in revenues.

According to the official fiscal report, Qualcomm’s high-end MSM chip shipments played a vital role in its strong Q3 earnings.The estimation for MSM chip shipments during Q3 was between 175 million and 195 million. But in reality they beat their own estimates by at least 6 million, shipping a total of 201 million chipsets.

Due to its strong sales, Qualcomm saw its revenue increase to $6 billion, a 4% increase from last year’s figure. Its net income increased by a whopping 22%, compared to $1.2 billion during Q3 of 2015.

Operating income came in at $1,592 million compared with $1,235 million in the year-ago quarter. However operating margin was 26.3% compared with 21.2% in 2015. In the reported quarter, the company returned nearly $781 million to its shareholders in the form of cash dividends and another $1 billion through the repurchase of 1.8 million shares of common stock.
