Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 SoC Launches for Mid-Range Smartphones

Qualcomm has launched the Snapdragon 670 for mid-range smartphones. Tis new chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 is the successor to last year’s Snapdragon 660 SoC. The new chipset is built on the same 10nm process which was also adopted for the Snapdragon 710 and Snapdragon 845.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 SoC is Now Available

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 comes with the Snapdragon X12 LTE modem that supports download speeds up to 600Mbps and upload speeds up to 150Mbps. The new chipset also packed with Qualcomm’s third-generation AI Engine that deliver up to 1.8 times artificial intelligence (AI) performance.

According to ZDNet:

Qualcomm has already started sending the Snapdragon 670 processor out to smartphone manufacturers and we should expect to see phones running the mid-range processor before the end of 2018

The new chipset Snapdragon 670 SoC supports up to 16GB of RAM along with eMMC and UFS 2.1 storage. The Snapdragon 670 SoC has Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+ technology for faster charging.

The latest chipset has the Qualcomm Spectra 250 ISP for camera performance that offers features such as noise reduction, image stabilisation, and active depth sensing. The Spectra 250 ISP is also capable 4K video recording with up to 30 percent lower power consumption than its predecessor. Snapdragon 670 uses Qualcomm’s Kryo 360 CPU cores and a 10nm LPP manufacturing process to remain power efficient.
