Qualcomm’s Inductive Charging Lets You Charge Cars While Driving
Qualcomm’s Inductive Charging Lets You Charge Cars While Driving. Imagine that you electric car is wirelessly charged while driving by the highway on which it rides on. Yes car charging without plug is possible now as Qualcomm Technologies is working on it. Qualcomm has also demonstrated dynamic charging car system in Satory Versailles, France.
The dynamic electric vehicle charging technology sends inductive charging power wirelessly upto 20 kilowatts to an electrical vehicle travelling across it. The charging vehicle should maintain highway speed to get charged.

Qualcomm has installed 100 meter segment of test track called FABRIC, in collaboration with French institution VEDECOM.
Qualcomm Principal Engineer Bill Von Novak said:
To me, the biggest advantage is allowing cars with smaller batteries to make useful trips. That includes picking up the kids on a busy day and getting a little bit of charge from the roadway
This technology is useful for cars which have lighter batteries and for car owners who make longer trips. It will pave way for all electric cars to have small batteries in future. It will cut down overall consumer cost. This initiative will also create a greater incentives for cars to go electric.
