WhatsApp introduced the ability to delete messages few months ago, which is sent by users mistakenly to their contacts before they have had a chance to see them. But recently it has been noticed that if you has quoted the text then you won’t be able to delete it once you have sent it. Quoted WhatsApp Messages Cannot Be Deleted.

It has been noticed that quoted messages in group chats continue to show in quotes even after they have been removed. Same is the case in private chat that you will get the same results even if you remove quoted messages.

So be careful next time when you are about to send messages in group or in private chat, and there are people who are in the habit of using quotes.

Spanish Android blog Android Jefe has claimed that deleted messages are present in the notification log of the device. It adds that the recipient can easily access the deleted messages regardless whether it has been deleted from sender’s end.

The blog said:

“What we found is that the messages are stored in the notification register of the Android system. So, it’s just a matter of entering that record to see the messages that the other person deleted,”

WhatsApp has highlighted that you can only delete messages for up to seven minutes after they have been sent as long as both the sender and the recipient are using the latest version of the app.
