Redmi 17C 5G Spotted on Geekbench With Dimensity 6300; Expected Price and Release Timeline in Pakistan

Xiaomi appears to be preparing the Redmi 17C 5G after an unannounced device believed to be the upcoming budget smartphone surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking platform.

The listing provides an early look at the phone’s processor, operating system, and performance scores. However, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the Redmi 17C 5G.

According to the benchmark entry, the device is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset and runs Android 16. It recorded 729 points in Geekbench’s single-core test and 1,692 points in the multi-core test.

These scores position the Redmi 17C 5G in the entry-level smartphone category. The chipset should provide sufficient performance for social media, web browsing, video streaming, messaging, and routine application use, but it is unlikely to deliver strong results in demanding games or intensive multitasking.

The device reportedly carries the internal codename “tornado,” which Xiaomi previously used for the Redmi 15C 5G and Poco C85 5G.

The shared codename has led to speculation that the Redmi 17C 5G could be based on substantially the same hardware platform as those devices.

This means the upcoming phone may be more of a refreshed or renamed model than a major generational upgrade. Xiaomi could still introduce changes to its design, colors, software, cameras, or memory configurations before the official launch.

Expected Redmi 17C 5G specifications

Xiaomi has not released the complete specification sheet, but the handset is expected to inherit several features from the Redmi 15C.

The phone could feature a large 6.9-inch LCD with an HD+ resolution. Although the display may offer a high refresh rate for smoother scrolling, the lower resolution could limit sharpness on such a large screen.

The Redmi 17C 5G is also expected to feature a 50-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. This setup would be suitable for basic photography, video calls, and social media use, but buyers should not expect flagship-level camera performance.

A 6,000mAh battery could return, potentially supported by 33W wired charging. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner and an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes may also be included.

Android 16 is currently the clearest software upgrade indicated by the benchmark listing. Xiaomi is likely to apply its own HyperOS interface over the operating system.

Expected price of Redmi 17C 5G in Pakistan

There is currently no official price for the Redmi 17C 5G in Pakistan.

Based on the leaked chipset, expected specifications, and pricing of comparable Xiaomi phones, the Redmi 17C 5G could start at approximately Rs 44,999 to Rs 50,000 for a base configuration.

A higher memory option could be priced between Rs 52,999 and Rs 58,999, depending on the amount of RAM and internal storage offered.

These figures are estimates rather than confirmed retail prices. The final Pakistani price would depend on exchange rates, taxes, PTA-related costs, import conditions, and whether Xiaomi launches the device through official local distribution channels.

Expected release timeline in Pakistan

Xiaomi has not announced a global or Pakistani release date for the Redmi 17C 5G.

Its appearance on Geekbench indicates that the device is undergoing development or testing, but benchmark listings do not always lead to an immediate commercial launch.

The Redmi 17C 5G could make its global debut during the second half of 2026. If Xiaomi decides to officially introduce it in Pakistan, the local release could take place in late 2026.

The Pakistani launch may also depend on Xiaomi’s regional strategy. Some Redmi C-series 5G models are introduced only in selected markets, while Pakistan sometimes receives a 4G version instead.

Based on the information currently available, the Redmi 17C 5G may offer limited improvements over the Redmi 15C 5G.
