Redmi Note 14 vs Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus: Who’s Edging Ahead?

The Redmi Note 14 and Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus have emerged as two new contenders in the lower mid-range smartphone segment. Both devices offer compelling features for budget-conscious customers but cater to slightly different user preferences. They are available at an almost similar price of around PKR 60k. So, letโ€™s compare their specifications to see how they stack up.

Both devices feature AMOLED displays, with the Redmi featuring a 6.67-inch screen and the Infinix offering a larger 6.78-inch display. The Note 14 boasts 2100 nits peak brightness and HDR10+ support, delivering superior visuals compared to the 1300 nits peak brightness of the Hot 50 Pro Plus.

Performance and Software

Both devices run Android 14, with Redmi featuring HyperOS and Infinix opting for XOS 14.5 as Android skins respectively. It is pertinent to mention here that the user interface largely relies on personal preferences.

Camera Capabilities

On the other hand, the Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus also features a 50 MP primary lens but lacks OIS, potentially compromising image quality. For selfies, Redmiโ€™s 20 MP front camera outshines Infinixโ€™s 13 MP shooter in resolution and detail.

Battery and Charging

Price:

Our Opinion

While the Redmi Note 14 offers superior display and camera features, the Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus provides a more lightweight build and additional attractive features like reverse charging. However, both devices fall short in terms of out-of-the-box innovative design and groundbreaking specifications, leaving buyers to choose based on minor preferences. At their price points, neither delivers exceptional real-world value, as better options may be available with budget adjustments.
