Report: Telecom Imports Decline by 20.81 Percent

As compared to July-September (2014-15) imports, the telecom sector imports  in July-September (2015-16) have decreased by 20.81%. The imports of telecom sector declined from $394.983 million in first three months of 2014-15 to $312.792 million during same period of present fiscal year. According to the statistics revealed by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), on year-on-year and month-on-month basis, the telecom sector imports increased by 3.29 percent and 5.17 percent in September 2015 when compared with that of September 2014 and August 2015 respectively.

Telecom Imports Decline by 20.81 Percent

The telecom sector imports increased from $119.570 million in September 2015 to $115.763 million in September 2014 and $114.945 million in August 2015. Similarly mobile phone imports showed an increase of 4.13 percent, that increased from $165.998 million in July-September 2014-15 to $172.857 million in July-September 2015-16. On year-on-year and month-on-month basis, the mobile phone imports in September 2015, when compared with the imports during September 2014 and August 2015 increased by 32.73 percent and 12.45 percent respectively. The mobile phone imports increased from $50.839 million in September 2014 and $60.008 million in August 2015 to $67.481 million in September this year.
