Samsung Accidentally Confirms Galaxy S26 Models Ahead of Launch

Samsung has reportedly leaked key details about its upcoming Galaxy S26 smartphone series ahead of its official launch, giving consumers an early look at what to expect. Although the company has delayed the release of its 2026 flagship and is also considering a possible price increase, one thing now appears clear: the Galaxy S26 lineup will include only three models.

The accidental confirmation came from Samsung Colombia, which published a promotional document highlighting a 0% interest offer on selected Galaxy devices when purchased using a local credit card. In the document, Samsung clearly listed the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra as eligible devices. This marked the first time Samsung officially named the models expected to launch next month.

Earlier rumors suggested Samsung might change its naming strategy by rebranding the base model as the Galaxy S26 Pro and replacing the Plus version with a Galaxy S26 Edge. As a result, the company appears to have returned to its familiar three-model lineup.

In terms of specifications, major design changes are not expected, especially for the Galaxy S26 Plus. According to industry sources, the device will feature a 6.66-inch display, slightly smaller than the 6.7-inch screen used in the Galaxy S25 Plus. Samsung had reportedly considered using an OLED panel originally designed for the canceled Galaxy S26 Edge. But it ultimately chose a display similar to last year’s model. This suggests the focus may be on internal upgrades rather than dramatic design changes.

Several leaks also point to a revised launch timeline. Samsung will likely release the Galaxy S26 series on February 25, 2026, during a Galaxy Unpacked event. Reports suggest the event will take place in the evening in Europe and morning in the United States. If Samsung follows its usual sales pattern, the phones could be available for purchase around March 11.

Interestingly, March 11 falls on a Wednesday, which would be a shift from Samsung’s typical Friday release schedule. This change is likely linked to internal adjustments, including the decision to drop the Galaxy S26 Edge from the lineup and reorganize the product launch strategy.

Samsung’s global marketing leadership has echoed similar concerns, explaining that higher memory prices directly affect production costs. While the company has expressed a desire to minimize the impact on consumers, it has also admitted that price adjustments may become necessary.
