According to some latest reports, Samsung Files New Series of Patents for Flexible Displays. According to the filing patents the device can be rolled, like a newspaper. Moreover, there will also a book-like model whom you can be fold to make it shorter.

More, the devices are not only the smartphones. Other smart products like tablets or wearables can also get foldable screens. Apart from it, Samsung also focuses on security biometric authentication features. With this feature only the authorized user can fold or scroll the device.

According to the Samsung’s latest foldable device patent abstract:
“A foldable device includes: a display; a touch panel configured to detect a touch input; a sensing interface configured to detect an angle of the foldable device; and a controller configured to activate the display unit when the angle detected by the sensing unit as the foldable device is unfolded is equal to or greater than a first angle, and activate the touch panel when the angle detected by the sensing unit is equal to or greater than a second angle.”
In January 2009 Samsung showcased the first concept of the folding smartphone to the public at the Consumer Electronics Show. Lets see when Samsung will showcase its first foldable smartphone.
