Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro May Offer 1TB Storage, but RAM Could Remain Limited

Samsung may bring a 1TB storage option to its upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro, giving users more space for apps, photos, videos, and other files. However, a new leak suggests that the phone may still feature only 12GB of RAM, unlike the Galaxy S27 Ultra, which could offer 16GB of memory.
The Galaxy S27 series is expected to launch in January or February 2027. Samsung could also expand the lineup from three models to four, introducing the rumored Galaxy S27 Pro alongside the standard Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27 Plus, and Galaxy S27 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro May Offer 1TB Storage, but RAM Could Remain Limited
According to a leak shared by tipster @wallegalaxy and reported by Sammy Guru, Samsung may introduce a 1TB storage configuration for both the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra.
The standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus, meanwhile, could continue to offer 256GB and 512GB storage options. Samsung may also introduce a 128GB variant in select markets.
The leaked information suggests that the standard and Plus models could come with 12GB of RAM across their storage configurations. This would keep their memory capacity similar to that of the current Galaxy S26 lineup.
The Pro and Ultra models could receive the larger 1TB storage option, making them more suitable for users who need extra space without relying heavily on cloud storage or external devices.
Galaxy S27 Ultra May Offer 16GB RAM
The main difference between the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra could be their memory configurations.
Although the Galaxy S27 Pro may offer 1TB of storage, the phone could remain limited to 12GB of RAM. The Galaxy S27 Ultra, on the other hand, will feature 16GB of RAM in its top-end 1TB configuration.
This would mean that buyers choosing the Pro model for its smaller form factor or other features might not receive the same memory capacity as Ultra users, even if both phones offer the same amount of internal storage.
Why RAM Matters on a Flagship Phone
A phone’s storage and RAM serve different purposes. Storage holds apps, photos, videos, and other files, while RAM helps the device manage active apps and background processes.
For everyday activities such as browsing the internet, messaging, and watching videos, 12GB of RAM should provide sufficient capacity for most users. However, users who frequently switch between demanding apps or perform intensive tasks could benefit from additional memory.
The extra RAM could also be useful for on-device artificial intelligence features, which may require more memory when processing tasks locally. A 16GB configuration could allow a phone to handle more demanding workloads while keeping additional apps active in the background.
Galaxy S27 Series Launch Remains Unconfirmed
Samsung has not officially announced the Galaxy S27 series or confirmed its specifications. The reported storage and RAM configurations should therefore be treated as rumors rather than final details.
More information is likely to emerge before the expected launch in early 2027. Until then, it remains unclear whether the Galaxy S27 Pro will receive 16GB of RAM or whether Samsung will reserve that configuration exclusively for the Ultra model.
