Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro May Use Exynos 2700 Processor in Most Markets

Samsung to introduce the Galaxy S27 series next year, and new reports suggest that the Galaxy S27 Pro will feature an Exynos 2700 or Snapdragon processor, depending on the region. While many fans hoped the Pro model would offer the same hardware as the Ultra version, the latest information indicates that Samsung will continue its regional chipset strategy.
According to recent reports, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro will use the new Exynos 2700 processor in most global markets. However, customers in North America will receive a version with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chipset. China has traditionally received Snapdragon-powered Galaxy devices as well, although this has not yet been confirmed for the S27 Pro.

The Galaxy S27 Ultra, on the other hand, will use the upcoming Snapdragon Elite processor worldwide. This means buyers of the Ultra model will receive the same chipset regardless of where they purchase the phone. As a result, the Galaxy S27 Pro is likely to remain a premium device but will not offer identical hardware to the flagship Ultra model.
Earlier leaks suggested that the Galaxy S27 Pro could become a smaller version of the Ultra. Reports pointed to a 6.47-inch display and even mentioned a possible Privacy Display feature. However, more recent leaks have shown that the Pro and Ultra models will differ in several important areas, including their telephoto camera systems and now their processors.
Samsung will manufacture the Exynos 2700 using its advanced SF2P process. Compared to the previous Exynos 2600, the new manufacturing technology will improve power efficiency by around 26% while allowing clock speeds to increase by approximately 15%. These improvements could lead to better battery life and stronger overall performance.
Samsung is also reportedly making a major change to the processor’s internal design. Instead of using the traditional stacked layout, where the memory chip sits directly on top of the processor, the company may adopt a Side-by-Side design. In this arrangement, the processor and DRAM are placed next to each other and connected through a silicon interposer.
This new design will improve heat management. In the traditional stacked layout, heat generated by the processor must pass through the memory before reaching the cooling system. By placing the components side by side, heat can move more efficiently, helping the phone maintain better performance during demanding tasks such as gaming, video recording, and multitasking.

Although early benchmark results for the Exynos 2700 were not especially impressive, experts believe those scores may not represent the chip’s true capabilities. The tested sample reportedly operated at much lower clock speeds than expected. The highest-performing core reached only 2.88GHz, while reports suggest the final version could reach speeds of up to 4.2GHz using ARM’s new C2 Ultra core.
Samsung will also use the Exynos 2700 in the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ models across most regions, with North America—and possibly China—receiving Snapdragon versions instead.
While Samsung has not officially confirmed these details, the latest reports suggest the company will continue offering different processors based on regional markets. More information will become available as the official launch of the Galaxy S27 series gets closer.
