Samsung One UI 6.1 is Bringing Back this Handy Feature

The tech giant Samsung has brought back an essential feature: screen burn-in protection, with the One UI 6.1 update. The company introduced a number of new features and optimizations with the previous update, however, it removed the screen burn-in protection for phones and tablets with OLED screens. After resentment from users, the company promised to bring that feature back and it just did that through the One UI 6.1 update.

The company rolled out the One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series, just a few days ago. Besides a range of AI features, smoother animations and transitions, and a few new features, One UI 6.1 brings back OLED screen burn-in protection.

A source has tested One UI 6.1, and the screen burn-in protection feature works as they thought. As you can see in the GIF image given below, the UI elements (charging status, signals, and internet signs) in the status bar and the navigation bar on the Galaxy S23 Ultra move a bit every few minutes.

While the feature has been tested only on the Galaxy S23 series, it isn’t clear yet if we will also see it on the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series.
