Samsung Plans to Release Android 13 Based One UI 5 in July

Samsung has a good track record of releasing updates for its devices and it also gets the updates for it Androids. Normally a few months of tests are conducted before the release of a new Android One UI. For One UI 4 and Android 12 Samsung started the testing back in September 2021. This year Samsung plans to do even better and will try to release the first Android 13-based One UI 5 beta in the July of 2022.

SamMobile has drawn a rough sketch of the Samsung timeline of Android releases. According to the SamMobile the target month selected by Samsung is July, but there is a possibility that it may get delayed. SamMobile further adds that last year Samsung announced the One UI 4 beta program in September and it public release was in mid-November. Samsung has not given the Estimated time of Arrival for the public release of Android 13-based One UI 5 beta program but we can expect an earlier launch.

The Android 13 launch will be in sync with the Samsung’s upcoming foldables i.e. the Fold4 and FLip4. The foldables are expected to be launched running with the Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1. This plan is not new to Samsung as they followed a similar pattern even last year i.e. the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Flip3 launched with Android 11-based One UI 3.1.1 and were updated to Android 12 a few months later.

As per the Samsung’s way of doings the One UI 5/Android 13 open beta should first be available for the Galaxy S22 series and with the time they will expand to other regions and more devices in the following months.
